Wednesday was the day of our nativity. The children had been busy learning new songs in readiness for this, and we think you’ll agree, they did an amazing job. By performing in front of their families in the large hall offers children an amazing way to grow in confidence and learn to adapt to changes in routine.
Friday was our final day of term and the day of our long-awaited Christmas party! We were thrilled to be able to invite magic Iain in to entertain the children with his magic tricks! Many of the children were involved in his show, acting as magician’s helpers! We then finished the week with a visit from Father Christmas, where we shared in festive songs, and all children received a gift.
Obviously much of our week was festive themed, with children growing increasingly excited by the approach of Christmas! The craft table has been awash with glitter and sparkle, with children accessing a range of festive-themed stencils and stampers.
We’ve enjoyed talking to the children about Christmas, with some lovely opportunities to target communication and language. Children have been excited to share their most wanted presents, as well as talking about how they think Father Christmas gets into houses! (Most agreed that he has a key!)
Ideas to continue this week’s fun at home:
Enjoy a well-earned break and enjoy sharing the story book that the Squirrel’s Father Christmas gave to the children!
