We have continued with our sowing of seeds and next week we hope to plant some flowers in our garden. We hope the seeds that have gone home are now showing some signs of growth although we have had reports of some cress failing to germinate! We have practised our cutting skills by cutting out flower and plant pictures and we have drawn and painted some beautiful pictures. We made castles out of bricks and boxes and later on the children dressed up and made up a story together which included princesses and knights. We also had several stories over the week, revisiting Goldilocks and the 3 bears which we acted out. Some children made musical instruments which we used at group music time and some made their own watches. We made patterns using the large mosaic where children matched their colours and made pictures using the large shapes and boards. We did lots of mud, sand and water play and even mixed up porridge which was very messy but great fun! We had the big hoops outside and played Leo’s car game with them as well as practising our hula hoop skills. Some children made life size pictures of themselves and used them to compare size and we weighed ourselves on the scales. On Friday we had a Teddy Bears picnic at snack time with some of the teddies from Squirrels. Starting very soon we will be choosing a different painting each week so don’t forget to look out for it as it could be your son or daughter’s precious work of art!
