been making their own kites, cutting out their own shapes. There
has been lots of mark making, children attempting writing for different purposes
and making up stories. Those going to school soon have
been practising changing into shorts and t shirts and have shown
good progress. Parents can help by continuing this at home,
encouraging children to dress and undress themselves whenever possible. We
have made ‘gardens’ using lots of different natural materials, and adding
mini beasts and this is something else you may like to continue at home.
Don’t forget our trip to Highwoods Country
park next week (Wednesday), it should be lots of fun and only costs £3 per
child. Also if you haven’t collected an empty jar to fill for our Sports
day tombola, we still have a few left. Fill them with anything you like
such as beads, shells, sweets, biscuits, toys, hair accessories, crayons etc and
make them as attractive as possible, perhaps tying them with ribbon or adding
stickers (your children will enjoy helping you).
Our older children are now getting to know
their new teachers at school and Squirrels are welcoming lots of new children
who will be starting at Squirrels in September.
Have a good weekend everyone and don’t forget
to write in your child’s diary to let us know what you have been doing
(visiting friends, relatives, going to the park, circus, swimming, zoo,
museum, church, birthday celebrations, bbq). All these things
are useful to staff as they can be used as a basis for meaningful
conversations with your child.
See you next week
