A variety of enclosures and structures were set up using any available resources such as logs, crates, materials, pegs blankets, pillows and bricks. The mud kitchen was as popular as ever with a chocolate cake being mixed up with accompanying music using the metal pans and utensils.
A stage was erected where small groups of children performed songs from 'Frozen' and played music on the keyboard. We also danced and played musical statues as well as Hide and Seek and What's the time Mr Wolf.
Our circle time was used to play a game where the children passed the rabbit round the circle while the music played. When the music stopped we had to tell everyone our favourite food, fruit, colour etc or we counted to 5. This is something you could easily play at home maybe naming a favourite animal or toy or whatever you choose.
We practised the words and actions to a new song this week called 'There was a princess long ago' and we practised our letter sounds in small groups in preparation for school. Next week will be the last week for many of us so please join us on our last day for our Sports day and Summer Fayre. If you have ordered a photo they should be arriving at Squirrels on Monday so be sure to collect yours.
