rehearsal for our Nativity and Katherine came in to go through the music with
us. Then on Tuesday we took the children to Highwoods school to watch
their foundation stage Nativity rehearsal. All the Squirrels children were
very well behaved and some of them joined in the singing! It was
so lovely to see many of the children again who left Squirrels at the end
of the summer term.
On Wednesday we had Squirrels Nativity. The children all looked
fantastic in their costumes and we hope you all enjoyed the performance. The
Nativity was followed by our Christmas Fayre which the committee had worked very
hard to organise. It was a great success raising over £320 on the day and
we are still counting! Thank you to everyone who helped support this
event by donating items, buying raffle tickets, making cakes and other
gifts. It was lovely to see so many parents, grandparents, aunties and
uncles there and we hope a good time was had by all.
Wednesday was also the first day for our new member of staff, Claire
Batt. She brings with her lots of childcare experience and
will be working at Squirrels on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. As well
as having a level 3 qualification she is mother to Oliver and Georgina.
The children welcomed Claire on Wednesday afternoon by singing the ‘Hello
song’ to her.
The children have been playing their own Santa games this week and have
been very excited knowing that Santa would be visiting our Christmas
party. On Friday Party Anna did a magnificent job keeping the
children entertained for over an hour and then they tucked into
their yummy party food. Father Christmas arrived and spent a lot
of time talking and singing with children and parents/carers. Each child
received their gift from Santa and then he said his goodbyes. Thank you
Santa.
Squirrels is back on Monday and then our last day before the Christmas
holidays will be Tuesday.
Have a good weekend everyone
