With our thoughts turned to the impending summer holidays - we also enjoyed some beach themed play. We set up a shop in the garden selling buckets and spades, and had our sand in a tuff spot to enable children to sit in the sand and really enjoy it. We added shells to the sand to allow children to hunt for their favourites.
Friday saw our final day of term with our annual sports day event. Children had been training hard, and were proud to show off their skills in the bean bag race, egg and spoon race, sack race, and running races. The children did really well at waiting their turn and cheering on their friends - nearly all of our children took part which shows how confident and willing to 'have-a-go' many of them have become over the course of the year. We were very proud of them all.
That just leaves us to wish all of our families that our going to 'big' school the best of luck. We will miss you all, but know that you are all ready for your next adventure.
We will welcome our returning Squirrels on Thursday 7th September, where we look forward to meeting all of our new starters too.
Ideas for the summer holidays:
Why not make a summer holiday memory box - collect ticket stubs, photos, leaflets, postcards and reminders of places you've visited - this can then offer a lovely opportunity to look back over your summer holiday and enjoy the memories again and again.
