The weather has been very windy which has meant that our garden has almost disappeared under a sea of leaves. This created some wonderful games of kicking, throwing and rolling around. We also enjoyed sweeping and collecting the leaves, however the carefully collected piles have been blown away almost as fast as we can clear them.
Puzzles have been popular this week. These give the opportunity to work together in small teams to complete them. This aids co-operation, turn taking and communication, as well as the mathematical skill of recognising and matching shapes.
We have been learning how to weigh objects this weeks using our scales, using small plastic figured to try and get the scales to balance. The children have continued to look at weight and measures through weighing out the ingredients to make cakes.
We have celebrated two birthdays this week and were delighted to enjoy the cakes given to the children by the birthday boy and girls families. Yum yum!!
