It has been a very busy week which has mostly been spent in the garden as the weather has been so lovely. We have a new water wall and the children have enjoyed pouring water into the funnels to see which way it flows. It is a lovely opportunity for the children to learn about measurements, volume and quantity. On Wednesday a group of children discovered that the small cars would fit into the guttering on the water wall and they experimented with seeing how fast the cars could travel down the structure according to their size.
We have enjoyed looking for bugs in the garden using magnifying glasses to see what markings they have and help to identifying them.
We have been learning new songs, in particular two songs that we join in by using our hands. Why not ask your child to show you them so you can join in.
We have been reading a story called Owl Babies which has some lovely fluffy owls kept in our story sack. It is lovely story that helps children to understand that when their mummies and daddies or grandparents leave them at pre-school, they will always come back to collect them.
The children created their own orchestra using pots and pans and they sang and danced and made a lovely sound!
Other activities have included painting, making and playing with playdough, building sandcastles and doing lots of puzzles.
We look forward to all the fun we will have next week. See you then :-)
