Alternatively, if your child is due to start primary school, click the link below to access a range of information relevant to 'school readiness'. We will hold a meeting during the summer term to discuss what 'school readiness' means and how you can best support your child during this exciting transition.
Parents are a vital part of our pre-school life. Through adopting a partnership approach between home and pre-school, our children's learning and development is enhanced. We endeavour to engage with parents and let them know what we are doing via our blog and our Facebook page. We offer suggestions for activities to try at home to further develop themes we have visited at pre-school and also offer a range of home activity sacks that parents are welcome to borrow. This is in addition to the communication we have between parents and key persons; we will regularly either converse with parents at the start or end of a session, or communicate via a home-preschool diary, enabling you to know what activities your child has enjoyed and the progress they have made. In return, we would love to know about your child's achievements at home, either via their home-preschool diary or via our 'parent pages'. We will also have a more formal chat each term to share your child's learning focus areas and their development; looking at their learning journey so far. Please feel free to contribute to there learning journey with any 'work' or 'wow moments' from home.
If you would like to further your involvement in pre-school life we warmly welcome parent (or grandparent) volunteers during any of our sessions. Whether you have a particular skill or area of interest you would like to share, or would simply like to read, join in with messy play or generally help out, just ask a member of staff or add your name to our parent rota.
